Im not sure why it does this, but i think the game looks at the two items and might recognise them as clashing or something, so one gets thrown out. Sometimes if two items are in the safe at the same time, such as the hacker suit and the zealot suit, one might vanish. In this case it would be removed once in the safe because the game doesn't think you should have it. Its caused by a faulty manifest in your save for unlocking those items eg you get the handcannon by downloading a savegame off the net. Inventory/ safe items vanishing- sometimes the game will make items disappear when in the safe. Not a fix or workaround, but be warned this is why you should have multiple gamesaves at multiple locations! forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/lis… Only starting a new game or starting from a previous save will fix this. There is no official fix, and no amount of reinstalling and reloading will fix this, it seems to be something to do with the gamesave. All batteries, and hack stations appear to be susceptible to this glitch, rendering them missing/inoperable.

That said however, once they die things get weird.
There is a small workaround I have found if the objective items are persistently despawning, there is a chance the lobby host can pick it up without it disappearing. If this happens once it will likely persist in that lobby, best to quit and join another one. Multiplayer objective item despawn- no proper fix.
